I know… it’s a bit of a stretch right? Am I getting too cheesy with my titles? I’ve been wanting to make the Strawberry Lemonade that Cheri wrote about at Kitchen Simplicity ever since I saw her post. This past weekend the strawberries I bought turned mushy before I could anything with them so I decided to make the Cheri’s Strawberry Puree and save it for when I had the patience to juice some lemons. I have an old fashioned glass juicer so juicing anything is kind of a chore. So when a salesperson from a hotel I do business with showed up at my office with a promotional gift bag that contained a lemon and bottle of lemonade I took the easy way out and made the Strawberry Lemonade with that. Perhaps I should have called this Lazy Lemonade with Strawberries.

Strawberry Puree (from Kitchen Simplicity)

  • 2 cups ripe strawberries, washed, hulled and chopped
  • 2 tsp sugar

Blend until smooth. I used my inversion blender for this and it worked great. Strain to remove the seeds.

This Calypso Lemonade was very good and not too sweet.

Add some Strawberry Puree to a glass of ice and then mix in some lemonade. No measurement is necessary. Just look for a pretty color that appeals to you.

Both kids opted to have plain lemonade but I was able to convince bribe my daughter to have a taste. I had to pay her a dollar. And my son... refused completely. Seriously, why wouldn't they be interested in a strawberry lemonade combination. That just drives me crazy.
