Here is a gift basket that will appeal to the adults who are interested in trying out some new liquor. It’s perfect for a 21st birthday or even someone more mature. A friend at work suggested this set up and it worked out better than I expected. Here are some basic instructions to make a Boozy Gift Basket of your own.
Boozy Gift Basket
- 8 – 10 mini bottles of liquor
- Container (a plant pot or something sturdy)
- Styrofoam to fit into the container (floral foam works well)
- Hot glue gun & glue
- Sticks of various sizes and lengths (I collected them from my yard.)
- Decorative moss
- Decorative picks (Michael’s has a great variety to choose from)
Glue each mini bottle to a stick using the hot glue and allow it to cool completely. Prepare your container by fitting the styrofoam into it snuggly. Poke each stick with a bottle attached into the styrofoam ensuring that the weight is evenly distributed. You want to make sure that the basket doesn’t tip over. Cover the styrofoam with moss and add the decorative picks.
The decorative picks really do add the perfect amount of interest to this basket. I was trying to make this appealing to men so I kept the decorations rather conservative. Michael’s had some gorgeous sparkly picks that would have worked well too. I can’t wait to make another one of these baskets for a Christmas gift. There is one thing that would make this basket better and it’s drink recipes that correspond to the varieties of liquor included in the basket. I’d love some suggestions if you have them.
It’s never too early to start thinking about holiday gifts for those “hard to shop for” people.
